One of the first and most important steps in capturing great digital photos is to get to know your camera. How often have you been out ready to shoot some pictures of a beautiful sunset or possibly at your child's first birthday party and you realize you have no idea what you are doing. Or you find that your unsure of what all these different controls and gadgets do and your pictures just simply don't turn out as you would like...
First step is to read your manual! Become familiar with the names of your camera's various features and understand what all the icons and displays mean.
Take small steps once you feel that you understand the basics of your camera. Try experimenting with one new control each time you use the camera and get familiar with it before moving onto another control.
You will soon find that it's a lot more easy to understand and to take fantastic photos. Your child's birthday party photos will no longer be blurry or bleached out with too much flash and your sunset photos will be absolutely vibrant!
